JARI JUSELIUS DEPOT MANAGER, LAPPEENRANTA

“We have a truly exceptional team”

As the manager of the Renta Lappeenranta depot, Juselius is responsible for daily rental tasks, work organization, daily maintenance, subcontracting, collaboration with partners, and handling purchase invoices. A concrete difference from other depot workers in Lappeenranta is that the depot manager is involved less in installation, maintenance, and repair work in the field.

Before his current position, Juselius had gained experience in the bolt and screw industry, hardware stores, factory maintenance, and production planning on the logistics side. In the work offered by Renta, Juselius was intrigued by the opportunities of a new company – creating something new in a growing and rapidly evolving industry.

“Renting has significantly increased. People have realized that they don’t need, and shouldn’t own, everything.”

The desire to learn is almost crucial

The cleanliness of the construction site, machinery, work methods, equipment, and construction site facilities are constantly improving. According to Juselius, as a result, it’s more enjoyable to come to work. At the same time, the work in the construction industry becomes more appealing. Juselius sees that equipment rental companies play a crucial role in enhancing overall safety and comfort in the construction industry.

Sometimes, customers come directly to inquire about new equipment they’ve heard of. Often, Juselius and his colleagues first understand the need, through discussions find the most suitable option, and if necessary, provide guidance on the use of the equipment.

In Juselius’s work, it’s essential to continuously develop one’s professional skills. As an example, he mentions a recent government decree related to dust control and cancer prevention at work – on which Renta has released an informative podcast episode.

According to Juselius, a equipment renter must be ready to tackle almost any task. Those coming from outside the industry do well if they have the right attitude.

“In this job, you can learn almost everything. The willingness to learn and being receptive to information are among the most important things. Here in Lappeenranta, we had a colleague who has already retired, with over thirty years of experience in the industry and a remarkably vast knowledge. He guided and instructed us very clearly.

“Our work is such that one cannot focus solely on operating machines in a corner or just be at the counter. Not a single day is the same. Ever.”

The open culture made an immediate impression

Immediately upon starting at Renta, Juselius was impressed by the prevailing culture of openness throughout the company.

“The way things are discussed and communicated was the very first thing that indicated that things are done here in a completely different way than in many other workplaces.”

Juselius also mentions enjoying the fact that trust to make decisions has been delegated to the local level, to the branch.

In addition to openness and trust, Juselius praises the personnel and team spirit found at Renta.

“I’ve worked in many places myself. We have a truly exceptional team.”
